Reviews for Alaina's Promise:

5 Angels from Fallen Angels Reviews!

"Meg Allison is a wonderful author and she made me fall in love with the characters in this book as well as with the country of Ireland. From the roughness of the rocks to feeling the sea spray on my face, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the beautiful countryside. Alaina and Torin both have fears that they must get over before this story can have a happy ending. Alaina’s fear was only hinted at but the scene in which she tells Torin what happened to her is one of the most heart wrenching scenes in a book that I’ve ever read. The mystery as to who killed the woman that Torin was accused of killing is part of the storyline throughout the entire book. I just knew that I had the culprit figured out, but I was so wrong so if you love a good mystery you definitely need to read this book. A great job, Ms. Allison!"

Overall rating:
Meg Allison has written a beautiful love story which will endear the book to your heart! She has presented a plot that makes love seem possible in any circumstance. And, if love is present, anything is possible regardless of the situation. Torin has a past; Alaina has one, too. The fact that Maggie, the widowed mother of Torin, has a connection with Patrick is obvious to anyone. Even though the two never acted on their attraction, reading the book leaves the impression that they might!

I enjoyed this book in its entirety! The surprise ending just makes reading this book that much more fun. You will definitely want to read this for yourself!

The Road to Romance

ALAINA’S PROMISE was unique for me as I had not previously read a book set in 1870s Ireland. It was fascinating to learn about the time and culture. The romance between Alaina and Torin was poignant as they both had to overcome significant ordeals that had happened to them years before, but had lasting effects. This is the second story I have read by Meg Allison, and she is becoming an author I will look for.

Meg Allison’s ALAINA’S PROMISE contains a riveting storyline from start to finish. Alaina has an inner strength that has gotten her through many tough trials and I admired that about her. Torin has blamed himself for Brigit’s death, if she hadn’t agreed to elope with him she wouldn’t have been out that night. He’s suffered a great deal for choices he made in his youth and I loved how Alaina champions him. ALAINA’S PROMISE is packed full of characters who will leave a lasting impression on readers, suspenseful elements which will keep you guessing until the end, and a sweet romance which is a joy to experience.
